Josh's Story

The overview
Â
Â
A seasoned holistic health coach and human optimization expert, Josh Chessman is a trailblazer in the realm of Whole-Human Fitness. As a top trainer in Canada, Josh discovered that true performance extends far beyond the gym. By focusing on the entire human experience—mindset, body, and emotions—Josh helps his clients break barriers, go further, and achieve unimaginable results.
Â
From co-creating the world’s first sensory-deprived race in the Nevada Desert, to becoming a top personal trainer in Canada, Josh Chessman has consistently redefined his own limits. With 15 years of holistic health coaching, he’s now helping clients reimagine what's possible and achieve an iconic life.Â
Josh's journey as a coach began with a wild idea sketched on a napkin, which later evolved into a global, first-of-its-kind challenge: running 24 hours in shipping containers with no light to raise money for veterans. A symbol that no one should be left in the dark. This innovative approach to pushing human limits is a testament to his belief in the power of uncomfortable and challenging conditions to unlock true potential.
Â
Three years ago, Josh made a significant life change, moving across Canada to keep a strong bond with his 2-year old son. When uprooting his life, he briefly considered leaving the fitness industry to pursue something new — something easier. But, it quickly became clear that not serving clients, not continuing his education, and not constantly building and growing was detrimental to his soul. This reaffirmed his commitment to himself and helping other's on a similar pursuit.
Josh's fitness journey is diverse and impressive. Over the past 15 years, he has competed in amateur strongman events, CrossFit, 10km races, Spartan Races and a 24-hour ultra-marathon, while also immersing himself in yoga, bodybuilding, jiu-jitsu, boxing, and swimming. While he excelled in some disciplines, others posed challenges, but his unwavering dedication to growth kept him pushing forward; in a pursuit of a better version of life and self.Â
Â
Josh continued learning, unlocking a new level of understanding by diving into the complexities of hormones, organ function, and gut health. This newfound knowledge is fuelling his current venture—a company dedicated to helping people achieve truly iconic feats but optimizing mind, body and emotions.Â
“I know what it's like to feel insignificant, and I know what it's like to feel unstoppable. I choose the latter everyday, and I coach my clients to do the same.”

JOSH CHESSMAN
He’s a man who thrives on challenges, consistently putting himself in new and uncomfortable situations to force growth. From co-creating the world’s first sensory-deprived race in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, to quitting a stable personal training job and buying a gym — alongside investing in two houses in the same month — Josh has never shied away from the biggest swings towards a fully-optimized life.
Â
Years earlier, Josh set a goal to become the top personal trainer at Goodlife Fitness, and he achieved it within that same year. A testament to his dedication to his goals and not letting himself take the easy path of complacency. In this chase, he realized that the drive wasn’t about the accolades or exposure; it was always about the process, the person he became in pursuit of his mission.
This methodical, process-driven approach has led Josh to become a catalyst for change, inspiring clients to achieve results they’ve never seen before. By going all in, showing courage, and displaying high levels of ownership and integrity, Josh embodies what it means to live ambitiously. Something that wouldn't be possible without fully-optimizing mind, body and emotions.Â
Â
When he isn’t coaching, Josh is a devoted father, musician, and entrepreneur, constantly pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.
This is his mission for himself and his clients.Â
Unlock an iconically ambitious life and find your best self.
